German NCO/Officer's Luftwaffe Dress Engraved Bayonet
The blade is nickel plated steel, measures approximately 18cm (or 7 inches), with fullers to each side at the top section; one side of the blade is plain, the other has a maker mark (F.W. Höller Solingen) close to the crossguard; blade is further acid etched with a scene of the flying plane, acorns and oakleaves, with inscription "Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit" (In Remembrance of my Service time); the grip is constructed of molded black bakelite, secured by two rivets on each side; no cracks visible on the grip. Scabbard is straight, no major dents, just lightly worn. Nickel plated grip exhibits signs of moderate use and wear, overall this bayonet grades in very fine condition. Scarce with airplane/air force motif.
