Germany, Luftwaffe. A II Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger, Mid-Sized, by Alcoso Alexander Coppel
A rare Reduced Sized version of the 2nd Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger by Alcoso Solingen. Measuring 260 mm in length when inserted into the scabbard. The dagger features a single ridged 153 mm long magnetic metal blade with a sharpened tip and semi-sharpened edges. The reverse bears the mark “ALCOSO ACS SOLINGEN” (Alcoso Alexander Coppel, Solingen). The blade fits nicely into the crossguard, which is constructed of silvered metal and consists of a finely-detailed Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika. A band of raised oak leaves transitions into a ribbed pumpkin-coloured celluloid handle with ten rows of twisted silvered wrap in the recessed of the ribbed grip without interruption. The dagger completes with a bulbous pommel decorated with a mobile swastika and oak leaves. The scabbard is constructed of silvered magnetic metal, with a traditional pebbled finish, ball final, and with the throat retained by a single mounted screw, and aluminum oak leaf bands with rings. In overall extremely fine condition.
