What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, NSFK. A National Socialist Flyers Corps Model 1934 Knife, by Stocker & Co.

(Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps Fliegermesser). This is a very well preserved National Socialist Flyers Corps (NSDK) Model 1934 knife, measuring 335 mm in length when inserted into the scabbard. The knife features a 175 mm-long nickel silver-plated magnetic steel blade with a sharpened tip and semi-sharpened edges. The blade presents plain with the exception of a maker’s mark on the reverse ricasso reading “SMF, SOLINGEN” for Stocker & Co., along with the firm’s logo of a stylized seated monarch. The blade sits securely within the ribbed nickel-silver crossguard, bearing a central black mobile swastika on both the obverse and reverse, with the seam covered by a blue leather washer.

The handle, re-leathered, is wrapped in textured blue leather, and the knife completes with a rounded nickel-silver pommel. It is accompanied by its period original scabbard, re-leathered, constructed of magnetic metal and wrapped in dark blue textured leather. The tip of the scabbard bears a silvered zink adornment held in place with dual rivets, while the opposite end features a magnetic metal throat, similarly held in place by dual rivets. It retains a functional spring catch, securely holding the knife in place during storage. The throat also bears a silvered zink loop connecting to a hanger constructed of a blackened leather strap with a functional silvered zink spring clip. The hanger is unmarked and measures 100 mm in length. Age-appropriate oxidation is evident to the metal and zink features, with some material fatigue to the leather elements of both the knife and hanger also apparent. It is in an overall better than very fine condition.
