(Luftwaffe Brieföffner). A Luftwaffe commemorative letter opener, constructed of non-magnetic polished steel, the obverse blade with an etched inscription of “HÖH. KDR. D. F.A.S.” and dates “OKTOBER 1943-MAI 1944”, transitioning into a ribbed upper crossguard bearing gilded sunwheel-style mobile swastikas on each side, with a ribbed handle, completing in a rounded pommel similarly marked on each side with a gilded sunwheel-style swastika, unmarked, measuring 280 mm in overall length, minor scratching and tarnishing evident, in otherwise near extremely fine condition.
