What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

A First Pattern Dagger by Kirschbaum & Co

A First Pattern Dagger by Kirschbaum & Co - Measuring 485 mm in length with the scabbard on, this dagger features a 312 mm nickel-plated steel blade, with sharpened edges, remaining bright and crisp, having a very sharp tip. The blade's ricasso is maker marked "WKC" (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co., Solingen) with the company's knight emblem, while the blade itself retains its crossgraining, but exhibits prominent scratches, common to extraction and return to the scabbard, natural shine, in very fine condition. Only half of the leather washer at the crossguard junction remains on the ricasso side. The fittings are nickel plated. The crossguard, exhibits good detail, complemented by the circular Swastika insignia in the centre on both sides, the insignias exhibiting contact marks. The wooden based grip is wrapped in blue/black Moroccan grip leather, accented by twelve rows of tight copper springy wire. The pommel features a circular bronze Swasitka on both sides, with contact marks and edge nicks. The scabbard measures 340 mm in length and appears without dents in the nickel fittings, wrapped in the same blue/black Moroccan leather as the dagger's grip, with a ball finial on the chape, complemented by two dagger hanger rings. The attached chain is aluminum, maker marked "OLC" (Overhoff & Cie Ludenscheid) and marked "GES. GESCH." (Gesetzlich Geschützt), light contact marks in the leather grip, in very fine condition. A fine example of this type of dagger, overall, in very fine condition.
