Naval Officer's Dagger by Carl Eickhorn Solingen

Naval Officer's Dagger by Carl Eickhorn Solingen - Measuring 420 mm, with the scabbard on, this dagger features a 245 mm nickel-plated steel blade, with unsharpened edges, remaining bright and crisp, with a semi-sharp tip. The blade's reverse ricasso is maker marked Carl Eickhorn, Solingen with the company's later designed stylized insignia, while the blade itself exhibits a beautifully engraved ornate naval design on both sides. There is light surface wear on both sides towards the tip, in addition to faint scratches overall, common to extraction and return to the scabbard, natural shine, near extremely fine. The brown felt blade washer at the crossguard junction remains supple and intact. The fittings are brass, bearing an anchor on both sides of the crossguard, with a blade release button. The yellowish-ivory coloured celluloid grip is smooth, lightly contacted, with a small chip adjacent to the second row of the tightly wrapped twisted brass wire. The pommel exhibits the Naval eagle standing upon a wreathed swastika, with indentations on the eagle's head from active use. The ornately-designed scabbard exhibits light contact overall, with scattered indentations on the body, the throat held firmly in place by two screws, the two bands displaying the traditional oak leaf design with thick dagger hanger rings. Dagger exhibits outstanding workmanship, near extremely fine.
