A standard SA Dagger measuring 369 mm with the scabbard on, with “Alles für Deutschland” (Everything for Germany) engraved on the obverse side of the blade and maker marked “C.G. Haenel Waffen und Fahrrad Fabrik of Suhl” on the reverse ricasso, with the company’s rightward pointing arrow insignia. The blade exhibits some pitting, usual in/out runner marks with sharp edges and tip, and appears to have been cleaned. Nickel plated fittings on the crossguard, SA Group marked “Mi” in the center of the obverse of the lower crossguard in small letters. Original wooden handle with light contact marks fitting perfectly to the upper and lower crossguards. The embedded aluminum eagle rates very fine. The SA insignia exhibits contact marks, loss of silvering, and some chipping. The scabbard and scabbard fittings are crafted out of steel (magnetic) and exhibit contact marks and some corrosion, with the dark brown body also exhibiting some contact marks and wear to the paint. Attached to the ring is a worn but overall well preserved leather strap with an oval buckle and metal clip. Overall near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Usually appearing on the reverse of the lower crossguard, the SA Group mark was used as a distribution control measure. These marks normally only appear on pre-RZM daggers.
