What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

Germany, SS. A Model 1933 Dagger, Relic Condition

(SS Dolch). A Model 1933 SS dagger, measuring 370 mm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. A veteran’s wartime souvenir piece in relic condition, it features a 225 mm-long magnetic steel blade with a sharpened tip and edges. Acid-etched onto the obverse of the blade is an inscription of “MEINE EHRE HEIßT TREUE” (“MY HONOUR IS LOYALTY”). It sits within a nickel-silver upper crossguard, marked with eight notches distributed in groups of four at both the top and bottom, stamped with a district code of “I” for Munich. The hilt extends to meet a nickel-silver lower crossguard, similarly marked with eight notches and secured in place with an original rounded pommel nut. It is accompanied by its period original scabbard, constructed of black-painted magnetic metal shaft. Silvered fittings are secured to both the tip and throat with side rivets, with an integral loop emanating from the latter for the accommodation of a dagger hanger. The throat’s spring catch remains functional, firmly holding the dagger in place during storage. Significant issues consistent with wartime veteran retrieval are evident, and include oxidation and loss of finish throughout the steel and nickel-silver features, the loss of the wooden handle grip, and oxidation and loss of finish throughout the scabbard with the loss of one of the two throat rivets. A fully unaltered veteran’s wartime souvenir dagger in poor condition.
