With KARL BURGSMULLER in an arch above BERLIN- etched on the blade; crossguards are nickel silver, exhibiting very minor surface wear; wooden grip is light brown colored, without chipping or cracks, minor contact exhibiting moderate wear; blade is in excellent condition, with usual runner marks, otherwise near mint, untouched; blade has deeply etched motto, “Mehr sein als scheinen.” (Be More Than You Appear to Be); Steel scabbard is straight and without dents, retains approximately 98% of the original olive finish, showing moderate surface wear. Chain is solid with clip marked DRGM. All original screws on scabbard, overall, this is the finest example of the chained dagger we have offered; better than extremely fine and scarce.
