Early Hitler Youth Knife with Motto by Tiger
Early Hitler Youth Knife with Motto by Tiger - This example is made with a steel base and a nickel finish. Bright plating with early closer coarse grip. The “HJ” insignia shows some contact from handling, however there is only a single, very minor chip in the enamel. The period sharpened blade is the style with a ricasso appearing bright and shiny; a deep motto “Blut und Ehre!” The reverse side of the blade is stamped with the large horizontal tiger positioned at approximately the center point of the blade. Behind the cat is the company’s boldly lettered name and location “Tiger / Solingen”. Also stamped with GESETZL. GESCHUTZT. The thick black leather buffer is intact. The scabbard is dent-free and was repainted many years ago, perhaps even period done. Overall, this is a prime example of a early, quality HJ knife showing signs of period use; near extremely fine.
