Germany. A Set of Artillery Observer Bataillion NCO School Candidate Shoulder Boards/Collar Tabs
An example of a well preserved set of sew-on style shoulder boards; constructed of “Flaschengrün” (Bottle green) wool, with aluminum tresse wrapped in an U-shape around the outer edge of the boards; with bright red (Rot) Waffenfarbe piping along the straps; with two silvered rank pips attached to each of the boards, along with a silvered cipher for “Observer Bataillon” and a silvered cipher for “NCO School Candidate” on each of the boards; measuring 40 mm (w) x 112 mm (h). Accompanied by a set of Artillery Officer’s collar tabs; constructed of red cotton, with very fine quality manufacture silver aluminum machine embroidery; with a buckram core; measuring 31 mm (w) x 71 mm (h); worn and uniform removed examples, with light mothing; in overall better than very fine condition.
