Germany, Heer. A Rare Generalfeldmarschall Shoulder Board
(Heer Schulterklappe für Generalfeldmarschall). A rare first pattern Generalfeldmarschall shoulder board, constructed of a red wool base reinforced with a cardboard core and magnetic metal wire frame, topped by a central band of silver aluminum wire piping interwoven with dual lengths gold bullion wire piping, pinned with a silvered bronze cypher consisting of crossed batons, retaining an original pebbled and gilded magnetic metal button, the reverse bearing an integrated strap with a reinforced buttonhole, unmarked, measuring 40 mm (w) x 100 mm (l), the cypher demonstrated slight loss of finish, a scarce board in overall extremely fine condition.
