Germany, Heer. A Rare Sniper's Badge, III Class
(Abzeichen für Scharfschützen III. Klasse). A rare and well-preserved Sniper's Badge, III Class, constructed of a field-grey wool backer, the obverse bearing a black eagle’s head with eye and beak constructed of golden-yellow threading, with feathering highlighted in white threading, peering between three oak leaves with an acorn mounted on the left, unmarked, measuring 62 mm (w) x 77 mm (h), with a small spot of material fatigue visible to the edge at the five o’clock position when viewed from the obverse, a scarce decoration in overall near extremely fine condition.
