Germany, Heer. A Stalingrad Cross Shoulder Board Insignia

(Schulterklappe Abzeichen). Constructed of magnetic metal with blue enamel, reverse with three of four prongs for attachment to shoulder board, unmarked, measuring 25 mm (w) x 33 mm (h), in very fine condition.

Footnote: These shoulder board insignia were authorised for issue to members of the 134th Infantry Division, whose parent unit, the 44th Infantry Division, was annihilated at the Battle of Stalingrad.
