Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Eagle Insignia
(Adler Insignien). A mixed lot of eight eagle insignia, including two Heer EM/NCO visor cap eagles constructed of silvered zink, the reverse of one retaining all three attachment prongs, the other missing all three, both unmarked and measuring 66 mm (w) x 26 mm (h), both demonstrating oxidation and loss of finish throughout, in overall poor condition; one Heer EM/NCO visor cap eagle constructed of aluminum, the reverse retaining one of three attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 62 mm (w) x 26 mm (h), in fair condition; a Heer EM/NCO’s breast eagle, constructed of dark green rayon, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 92 mm (w) x 42 mm (h), missing some of the material of the eagle’s left wing, in uniform-removed and poor condition; a Heer Officer’s summer tunic breast eagle, constructed of silvered zink, the reverse with a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 98 mm (w) x 38 mm (h), missing its hinge and pinback and with oxidation and loss of finish evident throughout, in poor condition; a National Socialist Reich Warriors League (NSRKB) breast eagle, constructed of aluminum, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, marked “1”, 95 mm (w) x 38 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, and; two Soldatenbund breast eagles, each constructed of silvered bronze, one retaining a crimped barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a flat wire catch, both unmarked and measuring 96 mm (w) x 49 mm (h), both demonstrating loss of finish and one missing its pinback, in overall very fine condition.
