Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Medical Personnel Insignia
(Insignien für medizinisches Personal). A mixed lot of 11 medical personnel insignia, including a matching set of German Red Cross (DRK) second pattern Officer’s collar tabs, each constructed of grey wool with buckram cores, trimmed with twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire piping, and pinned with red enameled Geneva Crosses, both unmarked and measuring 40 mm (w) x 62 mm (l), in extremely fine condition; matching set of DRK Enlisted collar tabs, each constructed of grey wool with buckram cores and pinned with red enameled Geneva Crosses, both unmarked and measuring 35 mm (w) x 55 mm (l), in uniform-removed and very fine condition; a mis-matched set of DRK Oberstführer shoulder boards, each constructed of a grey wool base with a buckram core, topped by two bands of interwoven silver aluminum wire piping, and pinned with two silvered bronze rank pips, both unmarked and measuring 20 mm (w) x 122 mm (h), with minor material fatigue evident, near extremely fine condition; a matching set of Wachtführer shoulder boards, each constructed of dark slate-grey wool with buckram cores ad topped by four bands of silver aluminum wire piping, both unmarked and measuring 26 mm (w) x 110 mm (l), in extremely fine condition; two Heer Medical Orderly NCO sleeve insignia, both constructed of dark green wool, trimmed with silver aluminum wire piping, and bearing machine-embroidered Medical cyphers, both unmarked and measuring 58 mm in diameter, in overall near extremely fine condition, and; a DRK Bonn EM/NCO’s sleeve insignia, constructed of dark slate-grey rayon, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered DRK-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, above an inscription of “BONN-STADT 1”, the reverse with three clips for snap button attachment, unmarked, measuring 115 mm (w) x 58 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
