A pair of Reichsbahn (German National Railway) shoulder boards, for Pay Group 12, constructed of four rows of gold-coloured threading interlaced with black threading in a U-shape, the inner two rows dominated by the black threading, the outer two rows dominated by gold, the threading in chevron patterns, each presenting two silver rank pips, each presenting buttonhole, over red wool backers, measuring 25 mm (w) x 106 mm (h), and in near very fine condition.
Footnote: Previously removed from a Third Reich political party podium flag. An Allied Soldier picked up this flag and added on German insignia, eventually sewing and attaching eighty-seven German Second War period embroidered and printed insignia, including twenty-five various shoulder boards, rank insignia, collar patches, breast eagles, medal ribbons, Naval trade badges, and cap insignia, all of which have now been removed.
