Germany, Third Reich. A Priest/Chaplain’s Pectoral Cross
(Brustkreuz). Constructed of a silvered bronze frame, the obverse hollowed and inset with a custom-fitted wooden insert, riveted with a detailed depiction of Christ crucified, situated above a skull of Adam, topped by a banner bearing initials “INRI” for Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum (Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews), the reverse with six visible rivets securing the obverse features in place, topped by an integral suspension loop, unmarked, measuring 58 mm (w) x 125 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
