Germany. A Kriegsmarine Officer’s Bullion Visor Cap Wreath
An extremely well preserved example of a second war period Kriegsmarine Officer’s bullion visor cap wreath; constructed of a rolled, flat, and twisted gilt bullion wires in the shape of multiple leafy stems of oak leaves tied together with a ribbon on the bottom, and a bullion tri-colour cockade; mounted on a padded and vaulted dark green wool core, with a very thin paper backer mostly preserved on the reverse; measuring 70 mm (w) x 52 mm (h); in overall extremely fine condition.
