What's a max bid?

An Uncut Cruiser Karlsruhe Cap Tally

This is a fine Kreuzer Karlsruhe Mützenband/cap tally; constructed of golden embroidery on a black rayon backer; measuring 140 cm x 3.2 cm; near very fine condition with some light soiling and one spot on the reverse where the tally was repaired.

Footnote: Kreuzer Karlsruhe was a light cruiser that operated between 1929 and April 1940. She was laid down in July 1926, launched in August 1927, and commissioned into the Reichsmarine in November 1929. She was armed with a main battery of nine 15 cm guns in triple turrets, and capable of reaching a top speed of 32 knots (59 km/h; 37 mph). For the majority, she served as a training cruiser for naval cadets during the 1930’s. She was in the process of being modernized when the war broke out in 1939, so she was not ready for action until April 1940. However, she was attacked by the British submarine HMS Truant, with 2 direct torpedo hits, causing significant damage. As a result, she was scuttled by escorting torpedo boats.
