An Extremely Fine Set of Kriegsmarine Oberleutnant zur See Epaulettes

This is an extremely fine quality manufacture set of Kriegsmarine Oberleutnant zur See Epaulettes; the base of the epaulettes is constructed of a metal-reinforced core, with a dark blue wool underside, padded middle, and an ornate upper, consisting of an intricate design of extremely thin golden aluminum bullion wire embroidery. The ridge of the epaulettes is constructed of matching gold coloured bullion that is densely wrapped around a fabric core to form wavy and straight rows of strings. The ridge is flanked by 16 mm wide silver tresse that is neatly folded around the corners of the shoulder piece, with a brass eyelet for attachment to the the uniform on the upper. The obverse further depicts a silvered fouled Kriegsmarine anchor insignia affixed to the padded upper. Around the ridge of the epaulettes are countless golden fringes that are sewn into the underside, and suspended by gravity. Both epaulettes appear to be extremely well preserved, and do not display any signs of age, wear, or damage. An extremely high quality manufactured set of epaulettes in mint condition.
