A Mint Luftwaffe Flight Technical Personnel Trade Patch with Outstanding Performance Braid

This is a mint and very fine quality manufacture second pattern (1935-1945) Luftwaffe Flight Technical Personnel Trade Patch; consisting of grey machine embroidery of a five cylinder engine within an oak-leaf wreath and stylized wings; on grey Luftwaffe wool backer; with the edge trimmed in heavy twisted gilded cording to indicate outstanding performance; measuring 103 mm x 47 mm; mint and unworn condition.

Footnote: Luftwaffe personnel were trained for a specific trade or military function for which the Luftwaffe utilized up to 39 different trade patches. Some patches were trimmed with silver/aluminum braiding to denote NCO ranks, while gilded braiding was used to denote outstanding performance in a particular trade.
