Germany, NSKK. A Rare Marine NSKK Cap Insignia
(Marine-NSKK Mützenabzeichen). Constructed of black wool with a cork core, the obverse bearing a multi-coloured aluminum wire cockade, set within a gold bullion wire oak leaf wreath, overlaying cross fouled anchors of identical construction, the reverse retaining a fully-intact Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) label bearing a maker’s code of “A4/462” and a secondary code of “029878”, measuring 90 mm (w) x 56 mm (h), the reverse liner has mostly detached and is held in place by the remnants of an adhesive to the lower left corner rendering the cork core loose, an uncommon insignia in better than very fine condition.
