Constructed of gilded and patinated feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central coastal artillery gun and background waves, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Hermann Aurich, Dresden, measuring 41.00 mm (w) x 54.14 mm (h), weighing 25.6 grams, with evidence of refinishing throughout, in overall very fine condition.
