Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Coastal Artillery War Badge, by Friedrich Linden
(Zerstörerkriegsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central coastal artillery gun with its barrel raised and extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, measuring 42.17 mm (w) x 55.10 mm (h), weighing 32.0 grams, demonstrating moderate oxidation and loss of finish throughout, in very fine condition.
