(Zerstörerkriegsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central destroyer cutting through waves, the bow of the destroyer extending beyond the wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, topped by a stabilizing clip, maker marked “SCHWERIN, BERLIN”, measuring 45.57 mm (w) x 53.82 mm (h), weighing 25.7 grams, some loss of finish and attempts at polishing evident, in overall better than very fine condition.
