Constructed of partially gilded zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine-style German national eagle, with a central frontal view of a battleship cutting through waves, the reverse with a ball hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Richard Simm & Söhne, Gablonz, measuring 43.96 mm (w) x 58.22 mm (h), weighing 32.4 grams, minor loss of gilt finish is evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.
