(Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-, U-Boot-Jagd- und Sicherungsverbände). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central depiction of a sea mine exploding, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, designer marked “OTTO PLACZEK, BERLIN” and maker marked “SCHWERIN, BERLIN”, measuring 43.46 mm (w) x 53.82 mm (h), weighing 26.1 grams, with moderate loss of finish evident, in addition to evidence of catch repair which has obscured the maker’s mark, in overall fair condition.
