(Narvikschild). Constructed of gilded feinzink, affixed with four reverse attachment prongs to a dark blue wool backer and magnetic metal backplate, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, representing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Gebirgsjäger respectively, topped by an inscription of “NARVIK” and a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 42.40 mm (w) x 90.76 mm (h), most of the original gilt finish has been lost with only traces remaining around the edges, in overall near extremely fine condition.
