(U-Boot-Frontspange in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a central oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by crossed swords, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, flanked on each side by six oak leaves, the reverse with a barrel hinge and fluted horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, designer marked “PEEKHAUS, BERLIN” and maker marked “SCHWERIN, BERLIN”, measuring 76.55 mm (w) x 24.09 mm (h), weighing 19.0 grams, with some loss of finish evident, in overall better than very fine condition.
