(U-Boot-Frontspange in Silber). Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, overlaid by a central U-Boat on a hollow background, flanked on each side by six oak leaves, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch, the reverse designer marked “PEEKHAUS”, maker marked “SCHWERIN, BERLIN”, measuring 76.50 mm (w) x 24.08 mm (h), weighing 18.9 grams, some loss of finish evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.
