(U-Boot-Kriegsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central U-Boat on a hollow background, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Orth, Vienna, measuring 48.76 mm (w) x 39.77 mm (h), weighing 18.8 grams, most of the gilt finish has been lost, in overall better than very fine condition.
