Germany, Kriegsmarine. An Auxiliary Cruiser War Badge by C.E. Juncker
(Kriegsabzeichen für Hilfskreuzer). Constructed of gilded and silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central viking longship sailing over a globe, the reverse with a block hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch, with a single visible rivet securing the obverse globe in place, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by C.E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 44.12 mm (w) x 56.61 mm (h), 35.3 grams, evidence of period repair to the catch, in overall near extremely fine condition.
