(Schnellboot-Kriegsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, overlaid by a central E-Boat cutting through waves, with its bow extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with a central stabilizing pin, designer marked “W.E. PEEKHAUS, BERLIN”, maker marked “SCHWERIN, BERLIN”, measuring 51.51 mm (w) x 60.10 mm (h), weighing 29.3 grams, with evidence of repainting of gilt finish, in overall better than very fine condition.
