This is a very fine set consisting of 1) a very fine Krimshield award document “Besitzzeugnis” presented to Kapitänleutnant/Captain Leutnant Kurt Fimmen of the 1st Schnellbootsflottille, dated March 1943, with a stamp of the national seal and a facsimile of the Generalfeldmarschall in blue ink. 207 mm x 144 mm, and 2) a rare cloth version E-Boat badge; constructed of yellow and white machine embroidery on a black rayon backer; with some remnants of paper remaining on the reverse; measuring 80 mm x 70 mm; uniform removed. The award document is extremely well preserved with only a very minor nick on the bottom left corner of the document. The E-Boat badge is also well preserved, but with obvious signs of wear, with soiling on the badge.

He was captured on May 9th, 1945. Further records do not exist, but he died May 6th, 2001. Please see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurt_Fimmen for more details.
