An early fine quality manufacture, mint, cased set of Blockade Runner badges consisting of a large Blockade Runner Badge with its matching Stick Pin; large badge in patinated and silvered tombac, with all of the original silvering remaining; slender vertical banjo style pin with a barrel hinge and a flat wire catch; marked “Otto Placzek, Berlin” (designer), and maker marked “Schwerin, Berlin” on the reverse; measuring 48.82 mm in diameter; weighing 37.2 grams. With its miniature stick pin; 47 mm long knurled pin; unmarked; measuring 25.81 mm in diameter; weighing 6.7 grams. Original case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper with a dark blue faux leather (leatherette) exterior; dark blue blended fabric on the inside of the lid with dark blue velvet on the bottom with a recessed medal bed; functional spring catch with stud release; intact interior fabric hinge cover; functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 105 mm x 82 mm; overall mint condition.
