An Early Manufacture Kriegsmarine Destroyer War Badge
An early example of a “Zerstörerkriegsabzeichen”; gilded and silvered tombac oval wreath of laurel leaves with a national eagle perched on the top of the badge clutching a swastika (note that the swastika is denazified), and a side-view of a destroyer cutting through a wave, with the bow of the ship extending over the wreath; plain reverse, with a center catch for stabilization - the horizontal pinback missing; unmarked; measuring 53.37 mm x 45.56 mm; weighing 25.1 grams; with the gilding and silver wash on the badge well preserved, but with the horizontal pinback missing; in overall better than fine condition.
