Constructed of gilded and silvered tombac, the obverse consisting of an oval oak wreath tied together at the base via a ribbon, with a national eagle perched on the top of the badge clutching a mobile swastika, with a side-view of an S-Boat cutting through a wave, the reverse semi-hollow, with a single uniform stay, a horizontal slender banjo style pinback, a barrel hinge, and a flat wire catch, marked “Schwerin, Berlin 68” on the reverse, measuring 44.88 mm (w) x 57.15 mm (h), weighing 32.4 grams, in overall extremely fine condition.
