Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Rare Elbe River Boat Pilot Badge; Numbered
In silver, (marked 800 on reverse), also numbered “14”, 40.63mm(w) x 55.55mm(h), weighs 39.1 grams. Footnote: these badges were worn by the River Boat Pilots whose duties were to guide larger ships through dangerous waters on large rivers in Germany; there were about 5 such rivers (name of the river is at the bottom of the badge), in this case "Elblotse" (of river Elbe). Very rare badge.
