(Luftwaffe Pilotenabzeichen). Two-piece construction in silvered zink, in the shape of an oval wreath with laurel and oak leaves, tied together via a ribbon towards the bottom of the badge, with a large patinated eagle with spread-out wings superimposed on the badge, clutching a swastika in its talons; two rivets on the reverse; vertical needle style pinback with a sheet metal hinge and a flat catch; measuring 65.00 mm (w) x 53.66 mm (h); weighing 36.0 grams; with the majority of its original silver finish worn off; in overall near very fine condition.
