(Pilotenabzeichen). Constructed of silvered and patinated tombac; two-piece construction, consisting of a laurel and oak wreath tied together at the base via three ribbons, with a large eagle clutching a mobile swastika superimposed on the badge; the reverse plain; with two rivets securing the eagle to the wreath; with a vertical needle pin, and a functional hinge/catch assembly; maker marked with the logo of the Gebrüder Schneider; measuring 66.39 mm (w) x 53.63 mm (h); weighing 40.5 grams; in overall extremely fine condition.
