(Luftwaffe Fallschirmschützenabzeichen mit Etui). Instituted on 5.11.1936 by Hermann Göring. Full brass type with a trimmed early Assman eagle. (Issued 1936-1945). Consisting of an oval patinated brass wreath, with laurel leaves on the left half of the wreath, and oak leaves on the right half of the wreath, with a gilt brass eagle clutching a mobile swastika in its talons; the reverse plain, with two rivets visible on the reverse, with a vertical needle pin, a barrel hinge, and a round wire catch; marked “A” (Toes Up Type) on the reverse, measuring 42.40 mm (w) x 53.30 mm (h), weighing 34.9 grams. Accompanied by its presentation case of issue, constructed of heavy cardstock, with a black textured faux leather (leatherette) exterior, the exterior of the case embossed with “Fallschirmschützenabzeichen” in gold lettering, with a lined interior lid, a slotted medal bed, a functional spring catch with stud release, and a functional exterior metal hinge, measuring 74 mm (w) x 81 mm (h), in overall near mint condition.
