Germany, Luftwaffe. A Flak Badge, by Gebrüder Wegerhoff
(Flakkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central Flak 88 with its barrel raised and extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened integral catch, maker marked with the logo of Gebrüder Wegerhoff, Lüdenscheid, measuring 44.63 mm (w) x 63.46 mm (h), weighing 28.4 grams, a badge by an uncommon maker in extremely fine condition.
