Germany, Luftwaffe. A Flak Badge in its Presentation Case
(Luftwaffe Flakabzeichen). Costructed of nickel-silver; the obverse consisting of oak leaves, with a Luftwaffe eagle on the on the top of the badge clutching a swastika, and a Flak 88 facing towards the top right, with the barrel extending past the badge; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, a crimped ball hinge, and a crimped flat wire catch; measuring 45.92 mm (w) x 63.74 mm (h); weighing 33.6 grams. Accompanied by its case of issue; constructed of cardstock, with a slightly textured blue faux leather (leatherette) exterior; the exterior of the lid embossed “Flak Kampfabz.” in golden lettering; with a lined interior lid, a slotted medal bed, an intact fabric hinge cover, a functional spring catch and stud release (case slightly warped to the stud does not always engage), and a functional exterior metal hinge; in overall near extremely fine condition.
