(Luftwaffe Erdkampfabzeichen). An oval wreath constructed of silvered and patinated zink; the obverse with an oval oak leaf wreath with a ribbon on the bottom and a Luftwaffe eagle with outspread wings on the top, with a cloud towards the top and a lightning bolt striking the ground; the reverse plain with three rivets; vertical slender banjo style pinback with a crimped sheet metal hinge and a crimped flat catch; maker marked “R.K.” for “Rudolf Karneth, Gablonz” on the reverse; measuring 43.24 mm (w) x 56.24 mm (h); weighing 24.3 grams; light oxidation on the hardware on the reverse; in overall in better than fine condition.
