Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Gebrüder Schneider, Vienna, measuring 65.48 mm (w) x 53.86 mm (h), weighing 33.2 grams, with some loss of finish evident, a rare example in zinc by this manufacturer, in overall near extremely fine condition.
