Germany, Luftwaffe. A Pilot’s Badge, Cloth Version with Document, to Unteroffizier Gerd Eberhardt
(Flugzeugführerabzeichen, Stoffausführung mit Verleihungsurkunde). Constructed of dark grey wool, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 78 mm (w) x 65 mm (h), with minor fatigue evident to the wool backer, in near extremely fine condition; accompanied by its award document, constructed of off-white paper with black ink, named to “UNTEROFFIZIER GERD EBERHARDT”, issued in Berlin on 24 March 1941, featuring a facsimile signature of Generalleutnant Gustav Kastner-Kirdorf, measuring 210 mm (w) x 295 mm (h), demonstrating a folding crease and some material fatigue, in very fine condition.
