(Fliegerschützenabzeichen für Bordschützen und Bordmechaniker). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a mobile swastika, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching dual lightning bolts, the reverse with dual visible rivets holding the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “WILHELM DEUMER, LÜDENSCHEID”, measuring 43.80mm (w) x 53.78 mm (h), weighing 26.6 grams, most of the silver finish has been lost and the eagle has loosened from its fittings, in overall very fine condition.
