Germany, Luftwaffe. A Reconnaissance Clasp, Bronze Grade, by Imme & Sohn
(Frontflugspange für Aufklärer in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed and silvered tombak tombak, the obverse consisting of a central circular laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a swastika, around a central silvered and leftward-facing eagle’s head with feathering in high relief, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, the reverse with a central rivet securing in place the obverse eagle, with a barrel hinge and tapering horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “IMME & SOHN, BERLIN”, measuring 75.46 mm (w) x 25.60 mm (h), weighing 24.5 grams, with only small spots of oxidation evident to the obverse, in extremely fine condition.
