Germany, Luftwaffe. A Short Range Day Fighter Clasp, Gold Grade, by G.H. Osang
(Frontflugspange für Jäger in Gold). Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of a central circular laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, around an upward-pointing winged arrow, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, the reverse with a central visible rivet securing the obverse arrow in place, with a barrel hinge and horizontal banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “G.H. OSANG, DRESDEN”, measuring 76.80 mm (w) x 25.98 mm (h), weighing 18.6 grams, with minor oxidation and loss of gilt finish evident, in better than very fine condition.
